MEMBERS OF THE BOOK EDITORS ALLIANCE are committed to the highest standards of professional conduct in the performance of editorial services.
Before starting work on a project, BEA editors will discuss and clarify with their clients all issues regarding the work to be done and will, if either party desires, draw up a letter of agreement confirming their mutual understanding. BEA editors will treat this information as confidential.
BEA members will not promise to arrange publication or agency representation for a project.
BEA members will avoid any conflicts of interest. They will neither offer nor pay any compensation to agents, editors, or other individuals in return for client referrals.
